Sophia Ingenito scored five goals, including the decisive game-winner, as the Merrimack women’s lacrosse team defeated Quinnipiac 15-14 at Duane Stadium on April 4.

The close contest saw the Warriors mount a comeback with five unanswered goals in the last five minutes of the third quarter, giving them a 13-10 lead heading into the final period.

Lindsay Atkinson contributed three goals and three assists for Merrimack, matching Ingenito’s six points. Hailey Schnider and Mia Estelle each added two goals. Brooke Brennan, Kaitlin Roche, and Brooke Eggleston also scored for the Warriors.

The victory marks an important moment for Merrimack as they continue their season. The team’s offensive push late in the third quarter proved crucial to securing their win against Quinnipiac.

Looking ahead, Merrimack is scheduled to travel to Niagara for their next game on Wednesday afternoon.
