Merrimack Women’s Lacrosse midfielder Sophia Ingenito was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) female student athlete of the week, according to an April 8 announcement from the college.

Ingenito has made a significant impact on the field this season, scoring 17 goals and providing 14 assists. She has recorded five-goal performances twice during the season, including a recent game against Quinnipiac that ended in a narrow 15-14 win for Merrimack. Earlier in the year, she also scored five goals against University of New Hampshire and had six assists in a game at Presbyterian.

Off the field, Ingenito has demonstrated academic excellence by being on Merrimack’s presidents list every semester and maintaining a 3.9 grade point average. In addition to her athletic and academic achievements, she is involved with campus organizations such as the One Love Club and participates actively in team-sponsored charity events.

The recognition highlights both her athletic contributions and her commitment to academics and community service.
