Rhode Island College Tops Women’s Basketball, 66-47

The Endicott women's basketball team lost to Rhode Island College (RIC), 66-47, in non-conference action on Saturday evening at The Murray Center.

Tara Laugeni (Woodbridge, Conn.) led the Gulls with her second double-double of the season via 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) chipped in with nine points, while Emily St. Thomas (Sterling, Mass.) and Cassie Caldwell (Marshfield, Mass.) contributed eight points apiece in the setback. 

RIC raced out to a 21-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter and never looked back.

The Anchorwomen led by as many as 23 (4th, 7:39, 56-33) in the victory.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Today's game was just the second meeting all-time between the two programs (RIC 2-0).
  • Laugeni has scored at least 10 points in all three contests this season.
  • Caldwell tied her career-high in points.
WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (1-2) hosts Emerson on Tuesday, November 22 at 5 PM. RIC (2-2) travels to Bridgewater State next Tuesday at 7:30 PM.
