Dear friends and neighbors,
Just over a year has passed since the politicized Supreme Court eliminated reproductive rights for millions of American women and families. Twenty-five million women now live in states where it's harder to get an abortion than it was before the Dobbs decision — or where abortion is banned entirely.
This decision has also resulted in health care providers being more hesitant to dispense other types of medication, even when they’re not for an abortion. Abortion is simply a part of health care for millions of women, and we don’t need politicians in our bedrooms or getting between a woman and her doctor.
House Democrats are working hard to force legislative action to fix this. Last week, I was proud to join 210 of my Democratic colleagues in signing a discharge petition for the Women's Health Protection Act — legislation that would codify access to abortion and other reproductive health care. A discharge petition is a procedural tool that can force a bill to the floor for a vote by the whole House. Now, we just need a small handful of Republican signatures to move this forward.
I am also a proud cosponsor of the Right to Contraception Act, which would codify and strengthen the right to contraception, and the EACH Act, which would ensure federal health care programs provide coverage for abortion services. I also support the Ensuring Access to Abortion Act and the SAFE for Patients Act, which would protect abortion providers and patients from violence and harassment.

Rep. Moulton speaks on the one year anniversary of the Dobbs decision.
We are lucky that Massachusetts is a place that respects reproductive rights. But we can never take this for granted, and we can’t stop fighting on behalf of millions of women who have been harmed by the demise of Roe and the dismantling of protections that support their right to choose. We’ve already gone too far backward. Enough is enough.
