Merrimack College sophomore forward Trevor Hoskin was named Hockey East Player of the Week, according to a March 17 announcement by the conference.
The recognition comes after Hoskin scored two goals, including the game-winning goal, in Merrimack’s 5-3 victory over UMass Lowell during the Hockey East Opening Round last Wednesday. He followed up that performance by scoring the overtime winner against top-seeded Providence College Friars in the Hockey East Quarterfinals this past Saturday.
Hoskin is from Belleville, Ontario and plays as a forward for Merrimack. His recent performances have helped advance Merrimack further into the tournament.
Looking ahead, Hoskin and the Warriors are set to face second-seeded UMass Minutemen at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 20 at TD Garden. The winner will secure a spot in the Hockey East Championships.
