The Merrimack softball team lost both games of a doubleheader to UMass Lowell on March 25, dropping the first game 6-0 and falling 9-4 in the second contest.

The outcome marks a setback for Merrimack, which had led 4-3 after four innings in the second game before UMass Lowell rallied to secure the win. These results impact Merrimack’s season record and momentum as they prepare for upcoming home games.

Sam Ryan contributed significantly for Merrimack by driving in three runs and reaching base in all three plate appearances, going 1-for-1 with two walks. Emma Prahin added a hit, scored a run, and drove in another run. Madeline Arvai and Jamie Calkins also recorded hits for the Warriors.

Merrimack will look to rebound when they return to action at home on Saturday with a doubleheader against Iona starting at noon. The series finale is scheduled for Sunday at noon.

The team hopes that playing on their home field will provide an advantage as they aim to improve their performance following these losses.
