Pia Vargas-Lopez secured a victory at No. 5 singles for the Merrimack women’s tennis team on April 10, but the team lost to Holy Cross with a score of 6-1.
The win by Vargas-Lopez came after she took the first set 6-3 and then won the second set in a tiebreaker, finishing 7-5.
This contest marked the last match of the season for Merrimack, as their regular season finale against Stonehill has been canceled.
The cancellation brings an early end to Merrimack’s schedule this year. No further matches are planned following this result.
