The Merrimack Warriors men’s baseball team lost a close game to the Stags, 7-6, after taking an early lead on April 4.
The matchup saw the Warriors score four runs in response to falling behind in the first inning. Jayden Hamilton contributed with a two-run infield single, and Joey Frammartino scored on alert baserunning for the team’s third run of the inning.
Despite trailing by three runs late in the game, Jack Andrews hit a triple down the right field line to drive in a run during the eighth inning. Matt DeShiro added a solo home run in the ninth, but it was not enough for a comeback.
Chris Goode and Brett McKinnon each reached base twice during the contest. McKinnon singled and walked while Goode drew two walks.
The loss concluded Merrimack’s seven-game homestand, which was their longest stretch at home this season. The Warriors are scheduled to play next at Brown University on Wednesday, April 8, with first pitch set for 3 p.m.
