WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM FLUSHING NOTICE | https://andoverma.gov/
The Andover Department of Public Works will conduct a Distribution System Flushing Program in Town from March 27th, 2023, and will end on or before July 14th. The purpose of the Distribution System Flushing Program is to improve drinking water quality for residents and businesses.
Flushing will take place in the Central area of Town bounded by Lawrence to the north, Lowell Street and Beacon Street to the west, Tewksbury and Wilmington to the south, and High Street, Main Street, and Sunset Rock Road to the east. Please view the listing of streets and neighborhoods that may be affected. This list will be updated periodically throughout the project.
Distribution system flushing will typically take place on weekdays between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, yet there will be a portion of the downtown area that will be flushed at night. Please check the Town’s website periodically for updates.
The flushing process may cause discolored water and a reduction in pressure. The discoloration of the water will be temporary. To help alleviate the problem, please run the outside spigot(s) until the water clears. Prior to washing any clothing, please make sure to check your water. If the condition persists, please contact the Public Works Water Division at 978-623-8862 from 7 AM to 3:30 PM or 978-623-8860 after hours.
