Tim McGorry’s No. 1 goal
Tim McGorry’s No. 1 goal when he returned to his alma mater as head coach was to get Allentown Central Catholic football back to a respectable level. With that mission accomplished with three consecutive District 11 championships, McGorry felt he could no longer continue to put in the same level of commitment to the program that helped it reach its current status. That’s why McGorry has resigned as the Vikings coach and one of his most well-known assistants, Rob Melosky, has been hired to take over one of the area’s most prestigious programs. An emotional McGorry told the team of his decision on Thursday afternoon in the ACCHS weight room inside Rockne Hall and Melosky, who had been overseeing the weight room workouts for more than an month, was introduced as the new head coach.
