Lynnfield Public Schools District’s student-to-teacher ratio fell by 0.7% in 2021-22 school year

The ratio of students to teachers in Lynnfield Public Schools District fell by 0.7% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 2,167 students being taught by 159.5 teachers in Lynnfield Public Schools District, which covers schools within Essex County and has a main office in Lynnfield. That's an average of 13.6 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Lynnfield Public Schools District had 2,167 students and 158.6 teachers on staff.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.

Massachusetts has roughly one teacher for every 13 students, which is better than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students.
