The ratio of students to teachers in Whittier Regional Vocational Technical School District fell by 5.1% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 1,282 students being taught by 114.7 teachers in Whittier Regional Vocational Technical School District, which covers schools within Essex County and has a main office in Haverhill. That's an average of 11.2 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Whittier Regional Vocational Technical School District had 1,249 students and 106 teachers on staff.

Massachusetts was ranked as the eighth best state for teachers, according to a WalletHub study.

Massachusetts has roughly one teacher for every 13 students, which is better than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students.
