The ratio of students to teachers in Beverly Public Schools District fell by 6.6% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 4,636 students being taught by 361.7 teachers in Beverly Public Schools District, which covers schools within Essex County and has a main office in Beverly. That's an average of 12.8 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Beverly Public Schools District had 4,633 students and 338.7 teachers on staff.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.

Massachusetts has roughly one teacher for every 13 students, which is better than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students.
